Ypsi Project : Nat Edmunds (via ericarhiannon )
Nat is co-chair and vice president of the Friends of the Freight house and was kind enough to sit with me after the ribbon cutting event for local business owners at the Freight house in Ypsilanti (August 2009). I wish I could have spent the entire afternoon chatting with her….a lovely person so many wonderful experiences to share.
Nat is the 7th generation living in Ypsi. She grew up on a farm in Ypsi Township and has lived in her current home for 55 years.
She has been and indispensable part of the preservation of Ypsilanti history since the 1950’s. Running for city council in the 1960’s when the city wanted to demolish Depot Town to build and industrial center, Nat has been fighting the preservation battle in one way or another ever since.
